• The Giants’ Jorge Soler led off the game against the Rockies by hitting the longest home-run to this point in the season with a 478 foot blast to dead center in San Francisco’s 3-2 win on Sunday. It was Soler’s 4th career leadoff home-run.
• The Washington Nationals’ top prospect James Wood (#2 overall in baseball) hit his first career go-ahead home-run in the bottom of the 8th inning Sunday against the Reds to give the Nats their first home sweep of Cincinnati since August 2019.
• Shohei Ohtani came very close to hitting a ball clear out of Dodger Stadium with his 473' bomb and LA combined to hit 6 home-runs in a 9-6 win over the Red Sox on Sunday.
• Oakland Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler has been on a tear in the month of July hitting .417 with 8 homers and a league leading 24 RBIs. In his last 7 games coming into Wednesday, Butler is hitting .536 with 4 HR, 13 RBI, and an OPS of 1.214.
