“Sports is human life in microcosm.”
- Howard Cosell
“The Coach” Nick Veschi
The trials and tribulations you experience in life are mirrored by the adversity you face in sports. Like the above mentioned Howard Cosell quote, I firmly believe that sports offer a different avenue from which to examine the human condition and that’s why it has such a unifying power. No matter who you are or where you are from, you can be connected to people, who seemingly have nothing in common with you, from all over the world through sports. That is what initially draws us to sports to begin with and why we pass it along to our kids. My goal is to have us learn something new each week so that we can promote enjoyment and excitement in sports while also preserving our sports ecosystem for future generations.
“The Man” Stephen Komlo
What's up Gazers? Stephen "The Man" Komlo here. Nick asked me to write a bio, and I'm going to try my best here...bear with me. I grew up in Leesburg, VA playing Soccer, Basketball, and Hockey. Until high school, most of my teams were coached by my dad. I think that having my dad controlling the roster contributed to my drive to be the best as well as my passion for sports. I learned a lot about sports, strategies, and analytics on rides home from games with Coach Dad at the helm of the family car. I got away from contact sports later in college, and fell in love with Golf, Baseball, and Tennis. I'm a huge fan of the Washington Capitals, Baltimore Orioles, and the New England Patriots. I'm going to do my best to bring my passion, love, and witty nature to all things concerning WCME. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoy contributing to all of this. Love y'all, thanks for spending your precious time here.
